A sad farewell … and a welcome
Our bass player, Shauna, has decided she wants to pursue a different musical direction and a different opportunity (what exactly is “folk fusion” anyway?) and so will be leaving us in the very near future. She will be greatly missed, musically and personally, by the rest of the band… but these things happen in life and we all have to make our decisions about what is best for us on the basis of the data we have in front of us. Shauna’s contribution to Riff Diamond has been significant and you could not meet a nicer person. We wish here every success in her new venture.
We also welcome Dom McAreavey to the Riff Diamond fold where he will be taking over the bass playing duties from Shauna. Dom is currently studying for his music diploma and immersing himself in learning the Riff Diamond catalogue, writing his own songs and squeezing in some competitive skateboarding. We look forward to what he will bring to the table.

Radio Debut for Riff Diamond Originals
Not many people know this … but yesterday evening saw the first radio ‘play’ of Riff Diamond’s promotional CD (released less than 2 weeks’ ago). Our thanks to Banbridge Community Radio and to Paul Scappaticci for spinning all three original tracks (Diamond Heart, Love Hate and Count Me Out) and for his kind words. Of course, this isn’t our first time on the radio, as we can claim to be “veterans” of a mere two brief appearances on Radio Ulster back in December 2015 (thanks to Good Morning Ulster, Noel Thompson, Ewan McConville and John Toal).
